These donuts are extremely soft and fluffy and pair perfectly with the chocolate glaze!

Hello! Today we have a delicious donut recipe to share with you guys!

They’re one of our go-to recipes to make for breakfast! While some of our favorite breakfast recipes are tasty, they take a long time to prepare. These donuts are the best of both worlds: not only do they taste amazing, but you can whip them up in a matter of minutes. When you make fried donuts, there’s the hassle of rolling the dough, cutting out the shape, and frying them. Baking donuts skips the extra steps, so the process is much quicker. Because who wants to do all that extra work for an equally delicious result?:) And the sooner we can eat them, the better!

Don’t even get us started on the glaze! This glaze has the perfect chocolate flavor while not being overwhelmingly sweet. It’s no surprise if it’s gone before we even dip the donuts!

Whether you’re a baker or not, this recipe is super simple and sure to please. Let’s be honest, who would pass up a delectable homemade donut? Especially one covered in an irresistible chocolate glaze! We really hope you give this recipe a try, you won’t regret it!:)

These donuts are extremely soft and fluffy and pair perfectly with the chocolate glaze!

Yields: 12 donuts
Ingredients
For the donuts:
  • 2 cups (276g) all purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick; 56g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 2/3 cup (143g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup plus 2 teaspoons (183g) milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the chocolate glaze:
  • 3/4 cup (162g) semisweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tablespoons (39g) unsalted butter
  • 1 and 1/2 tablespoons water
Instructions
To make the donuts:
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan with nonstick spray.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Add the melted butter into the flour mixture and stir until mostly combined. (See Notes)

  4. In a large glass measuring cup whisk the eggs, milk, and vanilla.

  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix until the batter is a smooth consistency. To get rid of any lumps, whisk the batter vigorously.

  6. Scoop the batter into a piping bag and pipe it into each donut cavity 2/3 of the way full.

  7. Bake for 9-10 minutes at 350°F or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the donuts cool completely.

To make the glaze:
  1. While the donuts are cooling, add the chocolate chips, butter, and water into a bowl. Microwave in 15 second intervals, stirring after each interval.

  2. Once the donuts have cooled, dip them into the glaze. Optional: add sprinkles on top!

Recipe Notes

The butter is added separately from the other wet ingredients because when combining the melted butter with cold ingredients, the mixture can curdle.
