These donuts are extremely soft and fluffy and pair perfectly with the chocolate glaze!
Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a donut pan with nonstick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Add the melted butter into the flour mixture and stir until mostly combined. (See Notes)
In a large glass measuring cup whisk the eggs, milk, and vanilla.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix until the batter is a smooth consistency. To get rid of any lumps, whisk the batter vigorously.
Scoop the batter into a piping bag and pipe it into each donut cavity 2/3 of the way full.
Bake for 9-10 minutes at 350°F or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the donuts cool completely.
While the donuts are cooling, add the chocolate chips, butter, and water into a bowl. Microwave in 15 second intervals, stirring after each interval.
Once the donuts have cooled, dip them into the glaze. Optional: add sprinkles on top!
The butter is added separately from the other wet ingredients because when combining the melted butter with cold ingredients, the mixture can curdle.
