How to Make Buttermilk

A super quick and easy tip for making buttermilk at home! Perfect for when you don't have buttermilk in your fridge.

Yields: 1 cup
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 cup milk, scant
Instructions
  1. Note: This recipe yields 1 cup of buttermilk, but it can be easily adjusted to make more or less. For example:

    -For 1/2 cup buttermilk, use 1 and 1/2 teaspoons white vinegar

    -For 2/3 cup buttermilk, use 2 teaspoons white vinegar

  2. Pour the vinegar into a glass measuring cup. Fill the glass measuring cup with milk until you reach the 1 cup mark, and stir the mixture. Let sit for 10-15 minutes before use.

Whole milk or 2% milk should be used
